The Big 9

Today marks nine years ago when I was sealed to the man of my dreams. NINE YEARS! It feels like I’ve known him forever but it was just like yesterday when we were in the Salt Lake Temple. If I had to sum up the way I feel about Paul in a few short sentences it would be this:
He makes me laugh every day and it just doesn’t feel complete when he’s not there. I guess you could say I’m a little addicted to him.
The wonderful husband and father he is sometimes makes me feel he is more than I deserve.
When our girls’ eyes light up just to see him walk through the door it is like a little piece of heaven here on earth.
He truly makes me want to be a better person whenever I’m with him.
My favorite day of the week is our date night and I look forward to it every week.
I know when he reads this he will probably not believe a word of it because the truth is I don’t tell him nearly enough, but if I would have never met this amazing man, my life would feel like it has no purpose or happiness.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BABE! I LOVE YOU!

Can you see me now?

Sorry to all my readers who haven't been able to read my blog for the past, um I don't know, month. My dear hubby and father-in-law informed me the background made it impossible. Hopefully this is better!

Me and Mudge, Mudge and Me

So ever since Ky has started school, Mudge and I have had some adjusting to do. Every now and then I realize the house is eerily quiet and poor Mudge has been a little needy since her BFF is gone. However, I have to admit I am enjoying this alone time with Mudge. She is so fun and lately it has just amazed me how grown up she is getting. She talks almost as well as Kylie and can tell you anything and comprehend anything you say! As if her personality couldn't get any bigger, she has started doing the funniest things. All day long she cracks me up, and besides the occasional temper tantrum, she is hilarious! She is no longer a baby and has become my little buddy! Some of her favorite things to do are read books, play and pretend to cook in her little kitchen, take baths, pose for pictures and help me clean. However, the best part of her day is still when her Sissy gets home. The two are the best of friends and Ky is such a great big sister. An update on her potty training, I guess I got a little ahead of myself bragging about it because she literally could care less now. No amount of bribing is working. Oh well, I guess it will happen when she's ready.

Oh the drama!

Since school has started, I try and get as much info about school as I can out of Ky, but most of the time all I hear is "I forget." Luckily her teacher emails the parents once a week to let us know what they are learning. I guess it's so we can have some talking points. I know I sure need them. The kid is like a vault! The few things she has told me is that she likes her teacher but she sort of has some "wierd rules." Wierd rules? She further explains the teacher makes them sit quietly, look at her when she is talking, raise their hands when asking a question...you get the picture. I asked her, "didn't Ms. Karla make you do all those things?" "Nope, she just made us wait till she was done talking then we could talk all we want." O.K. Apparently, Ms. Karla is held up on a pedestal and Mrs. McFadden still has a ways to go to get there. There are some girls in her class that are already causing some trouble. It's actually just one girl in particular and she is one manipulative little rugrat! I knew she would eventually have to deal with situations like this, I just didn't think it would be in Kindergarten. I asked her teacher if this is normal and she said unfortuanately, it is. These are the times I wish I had all boys. I dread the mean girl stage! Ky is a trooper though and is trying her hardest to not get caught up in it all. Speaking of boys she already has a little crush. His name is Miles and he is a cutie. I had to have the talk AGAIN that no boyfriends until she's 16. Paul says 25 so we'll let him deal with that. She actually doesn't like to admit she likes him, but the other day she told me Miles reminds her of Cannon (her preschool crush). Come to think of it, they are both blond haired blue eyed little flirts. I'm beginning to see a pattern here! I introduced myself to Miles' mom at the Halloween Party and she asked me who my daughter was and when I pointed Kylie out to her, she said, "Oh we hear about Kylie alllll the time at our house!" Too funny! Between the cat fights and the crushes can I just lock her in her room now?!

Catching up on blessings...

Honestly, I love that this project has made me recognize the small blessings I receive every day. However, I am excited for it to be done. I can't keep up on it! That being said, here are some things I am thankful for...

1.With the scare of Swine Flu comes a few little miracles of modern science that I couldn't live without: Lysol! Love it and use it multiple times all day!
2.Hand sanitizer. Have it in my car, my purse, bottles scattered through my house.
3.409. Also a handy little disinfectant.(Can you tell I'm a germ-a-phobe?)
4.Despite all these, I'm grateful for flu shots. I hope to be able to get the H1N1 shot soon, especially for my kiddos.
5.This has nothing to do with swine flu, but these other household products are also great: Wrinkle Release. Haven't tried it? GO OUT AND BUY SOME NOW! For all those ladies who hate to iron, this is a necessity!
6.Upholstery cleaner. I buy this stuff in bulk!
7.Carpet Cleaner. Also in bulk.
8. My Dyson vacuum. Bought this last March and wonder how I survived without it!
9. Now that I cheated and used product for blessings, here are some actual blessings:) I finally found a good home for Jax and now I don't have to worry about cat hair!
10. To make a long story short, I lost my wedding ring for about 3 days and even drove up to Palisades in hopes to find it, and after fervent prayer, found it in the washer!
11.I love the Fall season! Love all the yummy treats, the smells, the weather and the beautiful leaves!
Even after all that, I still struggle to come up with some more. I guess this will be continued....

Fall Fun!

These last few weeks have been super busy with fall activities and parties. We've visited the pumpkin patch, made carmel apples, carved pumpkins, had parties with family and at school and last but not least, trick r' treating at the zoo. This last week was also red ribbon week at school and for 2 of the days the school did crazy sock day and crazy hair day. Not sure what that had to do with red ribbon week, but Ky sure had fun doing it. I have to admit, she was definately the most creative on both days. She said nobody decorated their own socks like she did or had more colors in their hair than she did! The girls also had a blast wearing their costumes for about 2 weeks leading up to Halloween. I didn't think Mudge would like it as much as she did, but the girl loves to get dressed up! We went all out this year with painted nails, colored hair and glitter makeup all to match the costumes. There is no doubt about it, Halloween is serious business at our house:) I got to help out at Ky's Kindergarten party at school which was SO FUN! The lady that put it together went all out and we had 6 different stations each doing a different activity. Mine was to read a story about 8 little ghosts. It was a really cute story and each child got to take home ghosts that I personally cut out (along with my mom and her secretary). Together we cut out about 360 ghosts! Yup, you read it right...360! It was well worth it though, I think all the little kiddos really enjoyed it. To top it off, my mom came and visited Ky's class in a Humpty Dumpty costume. She passed out candy and the kids thought it was the greatest! You should have seen the smile on Ky's face, it was priceless! Luckily the weather was cooperative this year on Halloween and was a balmy 55 degrees. Doesn't sound warm, but it certainly made Boo at the Zoo alot more enjoyable. We went with our friends Kristen and Josh and their cute kids, Paige and Taylor. The girls got a TON of candy that is now sitting in our cupboard taunting me every time I open it! I should be good and just throw it away, but what fun is that?! I think I'll gain 5 pounds and get a couple cavities. That's what the holidays are really about! Even before we went out trick r' treating, thanks to the grandparents and my mom's office, the girls made out like bandits. I'll have to have you all donate to our dentist bill! To say the least, it was a great Halloween!
