Merry Christmas!
We had a wonderful Christmas this year! It was the most relaxing, fun Christmas I can remember since we've been married. The festivities started off on Thursday with our annual party at my mom's. Every year the kids act out the nativity, put on a little talent show and then of course, Santa comes. The girls chose to be a donkey and a lamb in this year's nativity. Kylie designed her whole costume herself, right down to the mask. We thought Sadie's Halloween costume worked great as a lamb since that's what most people thought she was anyway. Then the girls chose to sing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. It was so cute because while they were both up there belting their little hearts out, they were both twirling their shirts. I guess that's their own little nervous quirk :)

Christmas Eve Day we went out to lunch with my Mom and Ali and then went to see Yogi Bear in 3D. That evening we prepared for Santa by trying to set up a trap to catch him. Let me tell you, this was one intricate trap and we thought for sure we'd catch him! Kylie was so sure that she started getting a little emotional at the thought of no other children getting their presents because we caught him. None the less, we still set the trap and to our surprise we didn't catch him. Maybe next year! Then the girls set out snacks for Santa and the reindeer and of course a Diet Dr. Pepper. Isn't it ironic that Santa likes the same drink as Daddy? We ended the night by watching a few videos on the birth of Christ and then off to bed.

The next morning the girls actually slept in until 7:30. I was shocked because on every other day of the year it's 6:45 or so when they wake up. So that extra half hour of sleep was my little Christmas present. The girls had a great time opening up their stockings which included a box of cereal, toothbrush and toothpaste, stickers, reams of paper for them to draw on so they can stop using our printer paper, fruit snacks, polly pockets, coloring books and on and on. Santa brought Kylie a horse that neighs and makes crunching sounds when eating a carrot. Sadie got a white walking puppy. It was funny because we had originally asked her if she wanted some more Mrs Potato Heads from Santa because she loves playing with them. She was adamant that she wanted the puppy, so Santa decided to include the Potato Head as part of her stocking. When she opened her stocking not knowing what Santa had brought yet, she was not happy when she saw the Potato Head. She thought Santa had forgotten her puppy. Thank goodness he didn't! For as many presents as we had under the tree, the whole thing only took about an hour. Then Paul made us a gourmet Christmas Breakfast with Raspberry pancakes, eggs, sausage and peppermint hot chocolate.

We ended up getting the girls a Wii for Christmas. We were a little hesitant because our kids don't play video games, but because the Wii is so active, they LOVE it! So after breakfast, we had a Wii party for a good part of the day and played Just Dance for Kids, Bowling and Boxing. My mom even came over and tried it out which I have to say was pretty entertaining!

So all in all, it was a glorious day! I was just glad I wasn't in labor on Christmas morning. It was the only day I didn't want to have the baby. It would have been a sad day to miss my girls' faces light up as they opened their gifts. Now that it's all over I'm impatiently tapping my toe waiting for the blessed D-day! We'll keep you posted!
