What a great weekend!

This past weekend, while Paul was hunting, I decided to take the girls down to Utah to see Paul's family. I used to think any woman who travels alone with her children is amazing. Now after experiencing it, I think that any woman who attempts to do it after the first horrific experience is just plain stupid or a sucker for punishment. Seriously, I asked myself, how hard can it be? It's 3 hours right? We have a DVD player, books, toys, snacks, etc. We are set, right? WRONG! First of all, the DVD player stopped working at every bump we would hit. We didn't even get to Sunnyside road(less than a mile away)before I had to stop the first time, and then it just continued from there for the next 2 hours or so until I finally decided it was time to give the DVD player (and myself)a break, before it became part of the highway. The worst part of all of this is before we left I.F. I gave Kylie a little Dramamine to make the trip a little easier. Did it work? NOOOOO! She finally fell asleep when we were about 20 minutes away from Paul's parents' house. Thanks to the maker's of Dramamine for a whole lot of nothin'! Mudge would have been fine for the trip, however because the DVD player wasn't working, every time it quit, Kylie would yell, "MOM, IT STOPPED WORKING!" Or sometimes she would stir things up and yell "MOM, WHAT LAND ARE WE IN?" I would answer, not so patiently, "We are still in Idaho," or "hand me the stupid DVD player and I will fix it." So, after so many times of Mudge being woke up by Kylie's yelling, she finally stayed awake for the duration and played drop the binkie/toy/cereal and whine game. Yes, to say the least it was a fantastic ride down. So,on the way home, my mom was coming back from St. George with some of her friends and I enlisted her, or should I say begged her to drive back with me so I didn't have to endure it alone again. She laughed and of course happily agreed . However, I know she was thinking, "Andrea has no idea,I did this a tons of times with twins and a handicapped one to boot." But even my mom will admit, 5 minutes into the trip from Utah to Idaho, it started all over again. Except this time we heard, "Grandma, the DVD player is not working..." Now that you've heard my whining, enjoy the pictures. We had fun and it was so good to see all the cousins. We got to meet cute, little Sam, Uncle Scotty and Aunt Jill's new baby. We also got to be there for Brendan's 5th birthday. And Kylie has officially decided she is moving to Utah when she gets older so that she can be closer to her cousins! Watch out Utah!
